2026 - 3 - Charles TIlton a landscaper turned Military Intelligence Officer

Charles Tilton - 2 children My maternal grandfather Charles Tilton is the subject of this post. He and my grandmother lived in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania until World War 2 came along.  When the US entered WW2, my mother was in 7th grade. And although Charles (finally) had a job he liked, by 1942 he signed up for the US Army Air Corps (called the AAF, the predecessor to the US Air Force). When Charles was deployed, his wife and family moved to Adams County, PA, close to relatives and within a few years my mother & her sister went off to college.  Most of this post is from my "guest blogger," my uncle, the youngest child. 2026 - 2 - German Swiss Immigrants to PA - Andreas Brinker and descendants

The Swiss Family Tilton? My mother’s father, Charles Tilton, said he was English, and he was partly English. However, on his maternal grandmother’s mother he’s also Swiss and German. I have a chart showing his Swiss/German roots.     Chart's Key:  ~The bottom and the top green boxes show my mother (living) and the first male who emigrated from Switzerland to the colonies (USA).  ~The next ancestor, his son, who was also born in Switzerland and immigrated with the family, is on the left & below him in blue. ~All decedents on the left side are direct descendants of the original immigrant from Switzerland. ~Males are in blue, females in pink.  ~Marriages are indicated my any horizontal line. ~Only the foreign births are noted and bolded.
